Biography

After several years in the corporate world working for companies such as CBS, Telemundo, Comcast, ESPN, DishLATINO and receiving multiple awards for her leadership, performance and innovation skills, Criss decided to make a radical change in her profession. Why? She was intrigued about what made some people successful and how they maintained a life and work balance.

In 2016, she launched AlmayEspiritu.com, a consulting business whose mission is to deliver mindfulness-based life and work balance tools to the Latinx community. In 2019, she earned a Masters’s Degree in Mindfulness from Lesley University, and in 2020 Criss became a certified teacher of the renowned program, Search Inside Yourself, a leadership program developed at Google. That same year, Criss published “PERTENÆCER: Eight-Week Mindfulness and Meditation Training and Practices for Latinx Immigrants in the United States ©”. In spring 2022, she co-authored a paper titled “Building a more Diverse and Inclusive Science: Mindfulness-based Approaches for Latinx Individuals” which was published in the Mindfulness Journal. She is currently enrolled in a Mindfulness Mentor Training with Cloud Sangha. In June 2022, Criss joined Cloud Sangha as a Partnerships Specialist. Throughout the year, Criss helps Cloud Sangha’s mission to provide meditators around the world with access to supportive community and live expert guidance on our collective journey to free our hearts and minds. She also exclusively delivers mindfulness and emotional intelligence workshops to Latinas in Tech around the world.

Criss is originally from Venezuela, however, she spent most of her adult years living and working in the United States. She currently resides with her husband in New York City. Criss enjoys practicing meditation, reading, traveling, walking in nature, doing yoga, Zumba, or playing tennis!
