Serena is the Director of Marketing at SIY Global. She holds a master’s degree in Health Communication from Northwestern University, where she studied how mindfulness can make a positive impact on the US healthcare system. Serena believes deeply in the transformational power of contemplative practices, having leaned on their wisdom to help her live well with her own chronic illness. Prior to SIY Global, Serena co-founded Room to Breathe, a trauma-informed yoga studio that operates alongside a psychotherapy practice in the Chicago Loop. There, she supported students and trained teachers in accessible, psychologically-sensitive mindfulness practices. Serena also has experience in health tech, having worked for Happify Health as a marketer. In her spare time, Serena enjoys quilting, biking, and reading everything she can get her hands on.
